Dining Out

For a small village, Eastbourne is home to a good variety of eating options for your evening meal, lunch or picnic. From fine dining, to woodfired pizza, cafe meals to curry, pub grub or delicious fish and chips to eat on the wharf, not to mention great coffee, gelato and deli food for your picnic hamper – you will find plenty to eat within walking distance of The Walnut Tree. Should you wish to venture a little further, Petone’s Jackson Street, just 15 minutes drive away, offers a culinary and ethnic feast for any visitor. We will have full recommendations for you and are happy to make reservations on your behalf.

Dining In

Should you be celebrating a special occasion, we are from time to time, able to offer an in-house  ’Special Three Course Dinner’, served upstairs where you can enjoy some privacy and take in the sunset over the harbour. Our ‘Special  Dinner’ will be homemade, three courses ‘Cooks Choice,’ using the best seasonal ingredients available.  (We will do our best to accommodate any special requests or particular dietary requirements to the best of our ability and depending on notice given).Prior notice (min 48 hours) is required. Please enquire when making your booking. Cost $50.00 p/p.

Alternatively there may be the odd occasion when you might prefer to stay in for a simple ‘Family Meal’. You may arrange to join us ‘en famille’ at our table downstairs or we can prepare a casual meal for you should we be unable to join you for the evening ourselves. In most circumstances, prior notice is also required for this. Please enquire when making your booking. Cost $25 p.p.

In both cases we promise delicious home-cooking using excellent, fresh local produce.
